Happy Mother’s Day!
May this day be but one of many throughout the year that permits us to say thank you to the person who created our home, taught us love, and showed us the face and smile of goodness, besides keeping us in line, teaching us respect, and always worrying about us. Whether we are young or up in years, we know why we try to be good : anything less from us would be a disappointment to our Mom, be she still with us or looking over us from heaven.
Thank you, Mom!

On May 1, Our Faith, Our Family, Our Future Campaign surpassed its diocesan-wide goal of $28,000,000.00. $11 million pledged from six pilot parishes, including OLPH, with goals of $4.4 million. $13 million have currently been pledged by seventeen Bloc I parishes with goals of $7.5 million $ 4.12 million from six parishes conducting combined campaigns (Diocese gets 200% of set goal). (58 parishes in the third and last bloc will soon begin their campaigns.) Congratulations OLPH parishioners: As of March 30, you have contributed $352,204.00 (60% of goal) on your Pledges and the Parish has received in return $88,051.08.OLPH Parish Goal was $585,000.00; The total amount pledged as of 5/1/05 was $1,739,261.00. New pledges added from OLPH were $3,400 since March 20,2005 ($29,000 since January 9,2005!).
OLPH Parish receives 25% until we reach our goal of $585,000.00, then 75% of all pledge payments will be returned to our Parish. At the current rate of fulfillment on pledges, our Parish should be receiving 75% of all donated monies before the end of this year, which will be an outstanding accomplishment.
If you would like to make a pledge, please call the Parish and speak to Msgr. Mike. Or you may pick up a pledge card in the east entry vestibule of the church. 1/4th donated up to a parish’s goal will go to diocesan education; 1/4th to diocesan ministries; 1/4th to purchase and construct the diocesan retreat/youth center, and 1/4th returns to the parish.
