Sixth and seventh grade students are completing fitness testing for the Presidential Fitness Awards program.

Mrs. Smith’s seventh graders are studying the nervous and endocrine systems in their science class.  Labs will focus on their sense of taste.  They will also participate in an interactive computer program that will help develop critical thinking skills called “Decisions, Decisions”.

Mrs. West’s kindergartners will finish the year with a graduation ceremony Tuesday, June 7, at 12:00 noon in the church.  A reception in the courtyard will follow.

Fifth grade students in Mrs. Sbardellati’s class will share a Prayer Buddy Picnic with their first grade buddies.  They will exchange “class-made” gifts.

Congratulations to second grader Althea Martinez, recipient of the A & B Scholarship awarded at Student Mass.  The presentation was made by Lisette Stinson, representing the OLPH School Foundation who administers the scholarship.  The scholarship, made in memory of an OLPH parishioner, is awarded each year to a student in good standing in academics and deportment going into third grade.
