Confirmed Catholics can participate in the Mass as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion or Lectors. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help the priest distribute communion at the Mass. Lectors read the Word of God and assist as an Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
To be a minister at Mass, the person must be a confirmed Catholic, actively practicing their faith. If the person is married, the marriage must have been blessed in the Church. This should not be considered a great obstacle. You are encouraged to discuss the matter with Monsignor Mike, 323-3108 or Debbie Garton 716-1005.
Training for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are held once a month on Sunday from 10:00 - Noon. Two sessions are required to complete the training. The second session is set by those participating in the current training. Lector training is four weeks long and is held from September through the first week in November. Watch the parish bulletin for dates or call Debbie Garton for the next trainings.
